The BRSC Recreational Program is a volunteer-based program that focuses on fun, not wins and losses. Players can choose to register as a pool player or form a team with friends. Recreational soccer is available to players 4 to 17 years of age.

To register, click the Register button below and select the campus at which your child will be participating and the grade they are in. On the registration form, parents can note which team their child will be playing on, which coach they will be playing with, or make a suggestion that they are placed with kids from their school or with a friend. If you wish to coach a team, please select the volunteer option during the registration process for your child or complete this volunteer form. Our staff will use this information to set up your team in the system. During registration, parents can note which team or coach their child will be playing for on the registration form and we will be able to place the player on the correct team.

All coaches and assistant coaches must complete a background check. BRSC covers the costs of the background check. If you are interested in serving as a volunteer coach, you can learn more about the process here.

Is there a benefit to start soccer at such a young age?

BRSC Mudbugz for two and four-year-olds

While it may seem foreign to begin soccer at an age when your child is just learning to walk, there are many benefits when introducing your child to the game at a young age. In the BRSC Mudbugz program, we begin teaching players as young as two the basics of ball mastery. At this age, we simply want to help children get comfortable with controlling the ball with their feet through fun games and activities. Our sessions are created to constantly engage your child’s creativity without overloading them with boring, repetitive drills that lose their attention.

You will be impressed with just how quickly your child will pick up on our activities and how much they’ll enjoy the process of discovery. Beyond building comfort with a soccer ball, the Mudbugz program provides numerous benefits that translate to important skills off the pitch

  1. Physical development: Soccer involves a lot of running, kicking, and jumping, which can improve a child’s cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, and coordination.
  2. Parent-Child Bonding: BRSC Mudbugz is a parent-and-me program that allows parents to get involved in games and activities. Some parents say that they enjoy the sessions just as much as their kids
  3. Mental development: Soccer requires strategic thinking and quick decision-making, which can help children develop their problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  4. Improved self-esteem: Success on the soccer field can help boost a child’s confidence and self-esteem. It can also provide a sense of accomplishment as players master new skills.

Beyond providing a jump start to your child’s soccer development, starting soccer at a young age can provide a variety of physical, social, and cognitive benefits for children, while also helping them develop important life skills.

Learn more about BRSC Mudbugz by visiting the Mudbugz page or viewing our program overview video.

BRSC Winter Indoor Mudbugz

BRSC Winter Mudbugz

The BRSC Mudbugz “parent and me” style program offers a unique opportunity for children, ages 2 to 4, to have fun, build motor skills, increase focus, and instill confidence all while becoming comfortable with a soccer ball at their feet.

Because parents are the key to creating a positive and engaging culture of development, which is paramount at the earliest stages of development, each “parent and me” session is designed using core concepts from Tom Byer’s Soccer Starts at Home®. Our hope is that each Mudbugz session, filled with age-appropriate games and activities, is not only fun for your child but also provides parents with the fundamentals of the sport.

BRSC Mudbugz is the perfect way for parents and children to spend quality time developing critical soccer skills in a fun environment, all while fostering a bond over the love of the sport!

2024 MIDDLE SCHOOL TOURNAMENT RULES

Game lengths are still two 30-minute halves. All games that end in a tie will go straight to PKs to decide a winner (no overtime period).

NO heading will be allowed.  This has been sent down by our governing body LSA.  If a player intentionally heads a ball, an indirect free kick will be awarded.

NO rosters will be required (per referee assignor).  This being said players are not allowed to play on multiple teams on the girls' and boys' sides during the tournament.  Especially when a team has been eliminated, players are not allowed to jump in and play on another team still in the tournament.

Red Card offenses

Coaches & players must sit out their next game.

If the Red card is for violent conduct – ie. Fighting this would result in elimination from the tournament
