Join the Baton Rouge Soccer Club Team!
Baton Rouge Soccer Club (BRSC) is seeking enthusiastic, energetic, and reliable individuals to join our Mudbugz Coaching Staff. Mudbugz is BRSC's introductory soccer program designed specifically for children ages 2–4, providing a fun, engaging, and developmentally appropriate first experience with sports.
This is much more than teaching soccer. Our coaches help children build confidence, develop motor skills, and discover a love for being active while creating memorable experiences for families.

About Mudbugz
Mudbugz is a parent-and-me style soccer program that focuses on:
- Movement education
- Balance, coordination, and agility
- Basic soccer skills
- Social interaction
- Confidence building
- Fun through imaginative games and activities
Our curriculum is structured, easy to follow, and designed specifically for preschool-aged children.
No previous coaching experience is required—we provide training.
Responsibilities
As a Mudbugz Coach, you will:
- Lead fun, engaging soccer sessions for children ages 2–4
- Create a safe, welcoming, and encouraging environment
- Teach age-appropriate soccer skills using BRSC's curriculum
- Encourage participation and celebrate every child's success
- Communicate positively with parents and caregivers
- Set up and break down equipment before and after sessions
- Arrive prepared and on time for all scheduled sessions
- Maintain professionalism while representing BRSC
- Follow all BRSC, U.S. Soccer, and SafeSport policies
Qualifications
Ideal candidates are:
- At least 16 years old (18+ preferred)
- Enthusiastic, energetic, and dependable
- Comfortable working with young children
- Patient and encouraging
- Strong communicators
- Team-oriented
- Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Able to demonstrate basic athletic movement
Previous experience in any of the following is a plus:
- Soccer
- Coaching
- Teaching
- Childcare
- Camp counseling
- Early childhood education
- Physical education
Requirements
Successful applicants must:
- Pass a background check (if age 18+)
- Complete SafeSport Training
- Complete required concussion and child safety training
- Attend BRSC coach orientation and training
- Be authorized to work in the United States
Schedule
Seasonal opportunities available throughout the year:
- Fall
- Winter
- Spring
- Summer
Typical coaching times include:
- Saturday mornings
- Weekday evenings
Coaches may work one or multiple sessions each week based on availability.
