A New Chapter Begins: Coach Macca Named Head Coach

BRSC United Head Coach Macca

There’s something different in the air this season and it starts at the top.

After serving as assistant head coach last year, Coach Macca steps into the role of Head Coach, bringing with him a wealth of experience, a winning pedigree, and a clear vision for what this team can become.

Macca’s journey in the game is anything but ordinary. From signing professionally at just 15 with Aberdeen FC under Alex Ferguson to becoming the youngest captain in club history, his career has always been defined by leadership and high standards. He’s lifted league titles, won the Scottish Cup, and earned Young Player of the Year honors before going on to succeed across Europe.

His time with Raith Rovers saw him deliver in the biggest moments—including a decisive penalty in a cup final victory over Celtic FC—while sweeping Player of the Year honors across the board. He later competed on the European stage in the UEFA Cup and made a record move to Bolton Wanderers, where he helped lead a historic promotion-winning campaign.

Now, that same competitive edge and experience is being poured into the next generation.

“I look forward to coaching this young group of players and pushing them to fulfill their potential and help them grow in their play. The team will be positive and forward-thinking—and hopefully exciting and fun to watch.”

That identity, positive, aggressive, and entertaining, is exactly what supporters can expect this season.

Building the Staff: Pedro Morillo Rodriguez Named Assistant Coach

Alongside Macca, the club welcomes Pedro Morillo Rodriguez as Assistant Coach, adding another layer of international experience and player development expertise to the staff.

Originally from Granada, Spain, Pedro holds a UEFA A License and has built an impressive coaching résumé across both Europe and the United States. Most recently, he served as Assistant Coach for the senior team at Club Deportivo Virgen del Socorro Tíjola in Spain.

His coaching journey has taken him through a wide range of environments, from leading youth sides at Cabosa Shreveport United and Evangel Christian Academy to developing players in Spain with clubs like Celtic Club de Fútbol Pulianas, Granada Noroeste, and Atlético Mónachil. Across every stop, his focus has remained the same: developing technically sound, confident players who understand the game.

Pedro also brings a strong playing background, having developed through the academy system at Granada CF, where he trained and competed through his formative years.

The Vision Ahead

With Macca at the helm and Pedro supporting him, the direction is clear.

This is a group built on youth, energy, and potential, and a staff equipped to bring the best out of it.

The goal isn’t just to compete. It’s to grow. To push limits. To play a brand of soccer that’s as effective as it is exciting.

And if Macca’s track record tells us anything, it’s that winning tends to follow.

The next chapter starts now.
