Everything you need to know about the BRSC Capitals’ final match!

The BRSC Capitals are in the GCL2 Final and will face off against Central Louisiana FC at Olympia Stadium on Saturday, July 12th at 7:15 pm.
It was an unforgettable night under the lights for the Capitals, backed by an electric crowd of over 300 fans. The Capitals defeated LA Krewe Rush 4-1 in a thrilling match that kept the crowd on their toes!
Alicia Whidden, a BRSC parent in the stands for the semi-final game, said, “I know how hard they have worked for this, and it’s so awesome to watch it all unfold.” Join us to #RepTheRedstick in your BRSC gear this Saturday! Remember that BRSC youth players will get in free if they are wearing their RED game shirt! There will also be a halftime challenge. Ages 11-17 will be $5 admission, and ages 18+ will be $10 (processing fees not included).
These Caps have been UNDEFEATED all season long and this is the first time since 2021 that this team has qualified for the playoffs. Head Coach Craig Scott stated, “We’ve been grinding since April, practicing and getting in shape for the season. We’ve added quality players on top of the quality we retained from last season. The squad has the perfect balance between experience and youth. Everyone is hungry for the same outcome.”
When asked what the team will focus on for the finals, Scott said, “We will look to maintain sharpness and continue to focus on what we can control to ensure we’re ready!”
As coach Craig Scott approaches his last game ever with this team, he reflects and says, “I have enjoyed every moment, highs and lows. It’s been an excellent learning experience and journey on a personal level, and I’m excited to close out the season as we look for our first GCPL title.”
Opponent Overview
Central Louisiana FC secured their spot in the playoffs by tying 4-4 with LA Krewe Rush. They then went on to defeat Mississippi Blues in their semi-final playoff 2-1, which qualified them for the upcoming championship match.

BRSC to Host Semi-Pro Doubleheader in Baton Rouge – June 28
Baton Rouge Soccer Club’s men’s and women’s semi-professional teams will host a double-header on Saturday, June 28th. One ticket grants fans access to both matches. BRSC youth players (both recreational and competitive) can enter for free if they wear their red tops.
Both teams showcase talented youth prospects from the club, as well as former players on summer break from college. They are joined by experienced veterans who continue to compete at high levels.
The Baton Rouge United Women will play against the Mississippi Blues at 4:30 PM at Olympia Stadium, followed by the BRSC Capitals’ semi-final match against LA Krewe Rush at 7:15 PM.
Baton Rouge United Women Head Coach Bruno Antunes and Coach Stephen McAnespie aim to improve upon their previous scoreless draw against the Blues as they wrap up the regular season. Although the season hasn’t gone exactly as Coach Antunes had hoped, the United squad has shown significant improvement and is becoming more competitive, mirroring the progress of the Capitals.
The BRSC Capitals recently captured the East Division GCL2 title with a 4-2 victory at home against the Mississippi Blues. The Caps remain undefeated this season and will close out the regular season against last-place Invictus FC. This semi-final match will also mark the Capitals’ return to postseason play since 2021.
“This moment means everything,” said BRSC Capitals Coach Craig Scott. ” For three years we’ve worked, grown, and stayed committed through the ups and downs. Making the playoffs is exciting, but we’re not done yet.”
Tickets for the match are only $10 for adults and $7 for youth (card only). Concessions will be provided by Fastball Sno-balls. Tickets can be purchased online at slocaltix.com. BRSC Capitals 2025 GCPL Tryouts
Are you ready to Rep the Red Stick? The BRSC Capitals are holding open tryouts for their 2025 Gulf Coast Premier League season. The BRSC Capitals enter year three under Coach Craig Scott and are looking to build a squad to help return the Caps to the Gulf Coast Premier League postseason.
The Tryouts will be held on February 26 and March 12 from 7:00 -8:30 pm at Our Lady of the Lake Fields at Burbank Soccer Park on Field 5. Players who register should attempt to attend both sessions if possible.

BRSC Capitals Youth Clinic – Moved to Olympia Stadium

The BRSC Capitals invite all BRSC Recreational players in 3rd through 8th grade to a fun and engaging soccer clinic on Friday, May 16 from 6:00–7:30 PM at Olympia Stadium (originally scheduled at Burbank).
This free clinic is a fantastic opportunity for young players to meet and train with BRSC Capitals players and staff, enjoy exciting soccer games, and build connections with Baton Rouge’s semi-professional team. It’s a chance to sharpen your skills, make new friends, and get a feel for the Capitals culture.
