Paul Fletcher to Oversee Central and Zachary’s programming this season

Central and Zachary will have a new albeit familiar face at the fields this coming season. Baton Rouge Soccer Club Director of Operations Paul Fletcher will serve as the new campus liaison for the upcoming fall 2024 season.

Coach Paul is taking a break from coaching this season to focus more on program operations and assist BRSC’s satellite campuses’ recreational and Academy Programs.

“I am looking forward to helping improve all of our BRSC Programs in Zachary and Central this year in my new role,” said Fletcher. “I will be a resource to help guide our coaches and parents as they navigate the Soccer programs that best fit their needs.”

In addition to running some Academy training sessions at both campuses, Paul will be available to assist new and established recreational coaches with their practices offering tips and suggestions and running training sessions.

BRSC Executive Director Louie Smothermon believes Fletcher will do wonders for the growth of the satellite campuses. “Paul is the right person to improve the quality, oversight and delivery of programming at the Central and Zachary campuses. We are looking forward to a greatly improved membership experience moving forward.”

With a lifetime of playing and coaching experience behind him, Coach Paul was the obvious choice to help strengthen the club’s programming in Central and Zachary.

“My objective will be to help us improve and grow our various programs and help players and parents better understand the various programs for their soccer pathway,” said Fletcher.

Assisting Coach Paul with the Academy Program in Central will be Daryl Jones. Jones oversees the field crew at Burbank and also coaches in the BRSC Academy program at Burbank. He also has extensive coaching experience within the BRSC Competitive Program since joining the staff over six years ago.
