Staff Role Changes – Matheus Costa & Daryl Jones

Staff Role Changes for Matheus Costa & Daryl Jones

Longtine Baton Rouge Soccer Club staff members Matheus Costa and Daryl Jones have recently been promoted to new roles within the club. Costa served as the Director of Facilities for the past several years and will be promoted to Director of Supplemental Programs and will continue to assist with duties on the field crew. Jones has been promoted to the new Facilities Director and Assistant Academy Director.

Over the past few seasons, Costa has helped develop and grow several supplemental programs for the club. In this new role will allow him to focus more of his efforts on providing additional programming to better assist BRSC members with their development outside of traditional programming. This includes the High School Training Program which has experienced a threefold growth under his leadership, as well as the continued growth of our Supplemental Competitive Program (formerly PID). With several state titles and USYS Southern Regional appearances under his belt, Costa is the ideal candidate to help develop new and innovative programs for the BRSC membership.

Taking over for Costa as Facilities Director is Daryl Jones. Jones has been a member of the field staff for over seven years.  With his extensive experience as a member of the field crew, Jones was the perfect choice to assume the role vacated by Costa. Jones will also increase involvement in the BRSC Academy program alongside Andy Smothermon. As the Assistant Academy Director Jones will support Smothermon with day-to-day activities.

These new roles are effective immediately. BRSC leadership is excited to have Jones and Costa assume these new roles as the club continues to push to lead the region in the growth of the sport and player development.
