Additional Rec. Weekly Training

BRSC Rec Plus

Get additional training sessions under the direction of BRSC staff coaches in BRSC Rec Plus. Rec Plus allows recreational players (4-16) the opportunity to attend one or two sessions with the BRSC Academy Program at the Burbank Campus.

It is the perfect opportunity for recreational players to receive additional training during the season to work on skills not typically covered in team practices. BRSC Rec Plus training sessions will help expand the player’s understanding of the game and focus on age-appropriate skills and tactics.

The cost for a recreational player to attend one training session (on Tuesday or Thursday) for ten (10) weeks, in addition to the recreational fee, is $185. The cost for a player to attend two training sessions on both Tuesday and Thursday each week for ten (10) weeks is $285. Recreational teams can also choose to participate as a group. It’s a great way to get in extra training sessions under the professional tutelage of certified coaches.

Please note that Rec Plus is a separate registration from BRSC Recreational Soccer. Players who wish to participate in both must register for both programs.

BRSC Fall Academy

Registration for the Fall Academy season for the Burbank, Central, and Zachary Campuses is now open!

The BRSC Academy program is a way for players to receive high-level coaching free from the stress of playing to win. We want players to improve technically and use creativity and improvisation to guide their way through the game. Our approach helps build the foundation of confident, creative players who are prepared to advance into a competitive atmosphere upon completion of the program.

The fall 2023 season is open to ages 5 - 11 (U6 - U12) boys and girl at Burbank and ages 8 - 16 at Central and Zachary.

Player Kit:

Academy players train in an all-black kit that is available for purchase at Third Coast Soccer on Perkins. All kits must include the Sherman & Balhoff sponsor logo on the front. All players will wear these uniforms for training and competitions. Due to the frequency of training, we advise that you purchase more than one jersey.

Please get in touch with Academy Director Andy Smothermon with questions.

Players wishing to participate in one or two BRSC Academy sessions at our Burbank Campus (Tuesday and/or Thursday) while participating in BRSC Recreational leagues can register for BRSC Rec Plus. Rec Plus is a separate registration from BRSC Academy and BRSC Recreational Soccer. The cost is $185 for one session per week and $285 for two sessions.

Become a Referee

Become a Referee

As the game of soccer continues to grow in Louisiana, we have a need for committed, knowledgeable, and well-trained referees. Quality referees are an essential part of player development. It also serves as an opportunity to earn a decent wage with a flexible schedule while maintaining a healthy lifestyle and making life-long friends.

The process to become a referee is simple but does require several steps before you can begin. Step 1 is to register and complete a background check. Please select the state in which you would like to complete your referee certification. The background check is for candidates over the age of 18. This process can take a few days.

After registering and submitting your background check, there will be online coursework. This process typically takes 4-5 hours. Next, you will need to attend the field training.
