2024 Season
BRSC Captials/BRSC United Double Header
On Saturday, June 29 the BRSC United Women and BRSC Capitals will host a doubleheader at Olympia Stadium. The BRSC United Women will kick things off at 4:00 pm as they take on LA Krewe Rush. The ladies will be looking to avenge a 1-0 loss on the road in a tightly contested match on June 19th.
The BRSC Capitals will be looking for a bit of revenge as well. Gaffa FC defeated the Caps 6-2 on June 1st which would send the squad into a four-game losing streak. Playoffs are still a possibility for the Caps but they’ll need to win their remaining matches and get a little help along the way. The season finale will be against the West Division leaders, Southern States SC at Olympia Stadium on July 6 at 4:00 pm. The boys will kick off the match at 7:15 pm following the women’s game.
Special guests for the men’s game will be the 2013 Boys Pre-Competitive Program. The boys will serve as mascots and ball boys for the evening.
Tickets for adults are $10 and youth are $5. One ticket will grant admittance to both matches. Tickets are currently available for purchase at https://www.i2tickets.com/.

BRSC add Jason Carrillo to Coaching Staff
Tuesday, February 20 – The BRSC Capitals announced the addition of Assistant Coach Jason Carrillo to the staff. Coach Carrillo holds a USSF License and USYS National Youth License. He currently serves as an Assistant Coach for Dutchtown High School Boys Soccer along with Coach Craig. Coach Carrillo is also the head coach for BRSC 05 Red and BRSC 06/07 Maroon.
Adding a coach to the staff was important to current Capitals Head Coach Craig.
“Jason provides a different level of stability to the team, a calm character that will provide valued opinions in tough situations,” said Coach Craig. “Having a member of the coaching staff with a real calm and level-headed approach will be essential for the level we are playing at.”
Coach Carrillo is excited to begin working with the Caps and is anxious to help the team take the next step. “Joining the Capitals as an assistant coach is more than just a role,” said Carrillo. “It’s about being part of a family.”
Coaching alongside Carrillo with Dutchtown for the 203/24 High School season gave Coach Craig a first-hand look at how Carillo coaches.
‘Having worked closely with Jason for a while now, this was an appointment that I was passionate about getting over the line,” remarked Coach Craig. “Reliable, dependable, and willing to give 100% to benefit the team, those types of characters are invaluable.”
With a mix of young and veteran players expected to fill out the squad, Coach Carrillo is excited to work with them all. “It’s an opportunity to contribute to a legacy and to inspire the next generation.”
Coach Craig Looking to Grow Caps on and off the Pitch
As the BRSC Capitals prepare for the 2024 campaign, a couple of familiar faces will be patrolling the sideline. Coach Craig Scott returns for his second year as head man of the Caps.
Year one under Coach Craig showed promise over the previous season with an influx of young talent that helped support the Capitals’ veteran-laden squad. The task for year two is to bridge the gap in the roster by bringing in more players from the college ranks.
Coach Craig understands the challenges ahead and has been working diligently during the break to help bolster his roster. “I am super proud and excited to have the opportunity to lead YOUR Capitals again this year,” said Scott. “It was a thrilling first year with lots of learning opportunities. We’ve already started to add and build our roster with more experienced players while maintaining the pathway for our younger talent.”
Coach Richard Rollins returns for his third year with the Capitals directing the goalkeepers. Several young keepers received their first taste of Gulf Coast Premier League play for Coach Rollins and the Caps. His objective for the upcoming season is to help stabilize the position to withstand the rigors of a tough GCPL Western Conference. Coach Rollins is anxious to get started to help improve the Caps’ goal differential heading into the season. “I am looking forward to another year of growth with the Capitals programming both in terms of development and success for the players and the team,” said Rollins.
Heading into the 2024 campaign, Coach Craig expects the conference to be stronger as everyone looks to catch up to Division Winners Southern States SC. “The challenge in this league is immense and tough; we expect everyone to bring a higher level again; we will embrace the challenge as one team,” said Scott.
Support from the fans and sponsors is another critical component the Capitals will look to cultivate heading into the new season. Now that he is more acclimated with the town and community, Coach Craig is looking to make strides for the squad in the community. “Growing on the field is not my only focus, we are aiming to grow local connections and help grow together. We are looking for sponsors who are passionate about the game, and who see an opportunity to be involved with a local community that wants to develop talent for the future,” said Scott.
Inquiries about opportunities to support the BRSC Capitals through sponsorships or our supporters club can email Craig Scott at cscott@brsoccer.org.
“Everyone knows that we play for the city, the shirt, but more importantly, we play for our Fans. We appreciated your support last season. As we grow and move forward, we need you with us! We intend to repay your loyalty and support on and off the field. Help us grow together,” remarked Scott.
